BIOGRAPHY
Steve Barrett is a former National competitor in athletics, rugby, mountain biking and sport aerobics. He has had a career in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer spanning 20 years. For work as a lecturer, presenter and consultant he is considered to be a teacher of teachers and trainer of trainers. This has taken him to 32 countries around the globe, including USA, Russia & Australia. His academic foundation includes Distinction and Honours in Physical Education and Recreation Studies and he also holds the academic qualification of Cert Ed.
Since 1989 Steve has played a role in Reebok International’s fitness strategy. He holds the title of Reebok Global Master Trainer, which is a certification that requires a minimum of 5 years studying presenting and researching both practical and academic subjects. Steve has played a key role in the development and launch of two significant products in the fitness industry; the Reebok Deck and Reebok Core Board. As a Reebok Global Master Trainer he has been involved in the training of many international athletes and sports personalities whom were sponsored by Reebok and provides technical assistance to the Brand for a wide range of subjects including product development.
He has a high profile within the fitness industry and he is sort after by other leading brands to act as a consultant including Reebok Fitness Equipment, Escape Fitness and the online Personal training company feelfit.tv of which he is a Director and creator of 2 patent pending fitness systems. His industry activity to the consumer market includes writing for numerous publications including the Times newspaper, Runners World, The Independent, Rugby News, Health & Fitness Magazine, Zest Magazine and many more. He developed the hugely successful training programmes for the Cancer Research Race for Life series in 2006, 2007 & 2008. Which in 2007 reached an audience of 857,000 women.
